
The Norton Public School system will have a technology upgrade this year thanks to a local grant, according to the Sun Chronicle.
The group known as Norton Embracing Educational Development, or NEED, gave out a grant totaling $8,000 for the elementary and high school teachers in town.
NEED has given out $48,000 over the past seven years and received grant requests totaling $31,000 this year alone.

NEED gave out $1,000 for Thinking Reader software to aid in the reading process, $1,269 for an Internet-based program to let students work on projects in and out of school, $965 for science class materials, $770 for a vocational program’s coffee cart business and $4,000 for Smartboard purchases.
