Norton In Need Of Poll Workers For Presidential Election

NORTON, MA — Norton is need of poll workers for various shifts leading up to and including the Nov. 3 presidential election.

Workers must be 18 years old or older and will earn $12 an hour. Workers on election day will also get breakfast, lunch and/or dinner depending on the shift.

Those working the polls the day of the election will be asked to be there from 6:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The town clerk's office is also looking for worker to help tally votes after the election from 7 p.m. until midnight, or later.

All election workers will be trained.

Early voting will take place Oct. 17 through Oct. 30 and will include weekends. Weekday early voting will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with weekend voting 8 a.m. to noon, with the exception of Oct. 17, which will be 7 to 11 a.m. due to town meeting.

Ballot counters are also needed to be put in packs of 50 when they arrive in October. There will be 10,000 to 12,000 ballots to be counted.
