Massachusetts State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Bristol County.
NORTON, MA — The Massachusetts State Police plan to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Bristol County this week. The checkpoint will take place Saturday, overnight into Sunday. The time and exact location of the checkpoint has not been released.
State Police say that the goal of the checkpoint is to "further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways."
The sobriety checkpoint is being funded through a grant from the Highway Division of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.
