Taunton Woman Killed In Norton Crash Identified

NORTON, MA — State Police identified the Taunton woman, who was killed in a crash on Interstate 495 two weeks ago. Angela Fernandes, 49, died when a car she was a passenger in collided with another vehicle, while driving northbound near exit 10. The crash happened around 10 p.m., Saturday, July 21.

State Police said the collision caused the driver to veer off the road and strike a tree. The driver, a 46-year-old Taunton man, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 22-year-old Middleborough man, was uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
