Tornado Confirmed In Norton

The wild storms Tuesday gave way to a confirmed tornado, the National Weather Service said.

NORTON, MA — The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Norton late Tuesday afternoon. An investigation by weather officials will reveal more details.

At least 2,100 National Grid customers in Norton - about a quarter of the town - were without power Tuesday as the violent storm moved in from Rhode Island. Several trees came down, but no injuries were reported.

The NWS on Tuesday confirmed a tornado touched down in Lincoln, R.I.
