The Norton Water Department has begun a modified version of the regular seasonal flushing program. The Water Department will be conducting a mix of high and low-velocity flushing depending on location and system demands, and water availability. This flushing program began this week and will move to the distribution system today, 4/22/21, at approximately 10 AM.

Crews will be working in the Plain Street Water Treatment Facility area and work outward towards the rest of the water distribution system. Please take care in Plain Street, Pine Street, and Crane Street areas as these streets will be the first areas where this flushing is performed, and crews will be working in and around the edge of the roadway.

The Water Department does not anticipate any significant changes in water quality as a result of this modified flushing program. Additional flushing zones will be announced in the coming weeks; flushing and selection of these zones will be made based on system demand and water availability.
