'Trick Or Trot' 5K Coming To Norton High School

Norton High School will host the Trick or Trot 5K and Little Pumpkins Dash next month.

NORTON, MA — Halloween is almost around the corner, and Norton High School is getting ready to host its Trick or Trot 5K and the Little Pumpkins half-mile dash next month. The Halloween-spirited event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, with awards for race winners and costumes. It will be the 10th annual cross country road race at Norton High School.

The Trick or Trot 5K will start at 10 a.m., and the half-mile Little Pumpkins dash for children 12 years old and younger will start at 9:30 a.m. The male and female overall winners of the 5K race will get new running shoes courtesy of Marathon Sports. Other race winners will get gift certificates from the company. All the young runners in the Little Pumpkins Dash will receive participation ribbons.

The 5K course will be 3.1 miles of flat ground, and the race is open to both runners and walkers. It will start in front of the high school and weave throughout the campus.

The registration fee for the Trick or Trot 5K is $30 before noon on Oct. 22, and $35 after that. Group rates are available for teams of 10 or more runners. There is a $10 "anytime entry" fee for the Little Pumpkins Dash. Day-of-race registration will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Norton High School, located at 66 West Main St. Participants who register by Oct. 13 will receive a free T-shirt.
