Kimberly Delgado Trampuz, the daughter of Katiuska Trampuz and Juan Delgado, has been chosen as the Outstanding Vocational-Technical Student of the Year at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton.

She resides in Norwood and has excelled in the Graphic Communications technical program. Her professionalism in the graphic communications field has been observed by many because she has participated in the design and development of products used for community events. Her designs have quite literally been to Ecuador and back.

“I have made apparel for the past few senior classes who went to Ecuador for their Spanish trip,” Kimberly said. “I was able to print and embroider designs on the apparel they took with them. It felt good to be able to be a part of the design process.”

Kimberly states that she has a passion for design and to make people feel good. She approaches her academic studies with as much enthusiasm as she does her vocational program by enrolling in Advanced Placement and honors classes and earning a 4.48 weighted GPA. She ranks third in her graduating class of 207 students and serves as vice president of the National Honor Society. Kimberly participates in service activities, and she is particularly proud of tutoring other students through the National Honor Society’s Academic Assistance program. Kimberly hopes to attend UMass Lowell to pursue a degree in biology.

She was honored on April 11, along with dozens of exceptional young men and women from across Massachusetts who are their schools’ Outstanding Vocational-Technical Students, at an awards ceremony and banquet held at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. The event was sponsored by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators (MAVA) and the Massachusetts Vocational Association (MVA).

“I feel honored to be given such a huge recognition,” Kimberly said. “I feel as my work at school and in the community was recognized.”
