Boston Tavern Opening In Norwood

NORWOOD, MA — A popular casual restaurant chain to get steak tips, burgers, chicken fingers, and other comfort food was given the green light to open. The Board of Selectmen voted to approve the Boston Tavern's license at last Tuesday's meeting. The Boston Tavern will open on Route 1, where the Outback Steakhouse used to be.

Company president Peter Morrissey told the selectmen construction will take about five months and the restaurant will be modeled after the Ashland Ale House, another family restaurant and sports bar he owns. The restaurant will have about 190 seats.

Morrissey said he hopes to have the Boston Tavern opened by the holiday season. It will be located at 1212 Providence Highway.
