Do You Know About Environmental Justice in Norwood?

Learn about it at Environmental Justice: What it is, and Who it affects in Norwood and in the World, a talk hosted by the library Thursday.

NORWOOD, MA — There are still spots available to attend Environmental Justice: What it is, and Who it affects in Norwood and in the World, hosted by the Norwood Public Library, on Thursday at 7 p.m.

William Rodriguez, a clinical instructor in Youth Justice and Advocacy at Boston University, will be presenting. Rodriguez has worked in the area of juvenile and criminal justice for more than 30 years and serves on the boards of Northeastern University’s Institute for Race and Justice, Justice for Families, Families and Friends of Incarcerated Louisiana Children, School and Main Institute and Justice Strategies.

“Environmental justice involves mobilizing and advocating for a clean and healthy community,...[and] strategies can be applied at the local and national level,” Rodriguez said on the event sign-up page.

Rodriguez may seem familiar to some Norwood residents.

“You might recognize him as Willie Rodriguez, a Norwood resident who is also our resident DeeJay on Norwood Day and at many other Norwood events,” the event page says.
