Five Things You Need to Know This Weekend: 'Fantasy Footsteps' and the Craft Affair

1. The Norwood Backstage Boosters is proud to present the sixth annual “Fantasy Footsteps,” a storybook tour for youngsters and grown-ups alike, this Friday and Saturday, at the Savage Center. Groups will be led on a guided tour through sparkling corridors where audiences will be treated to magical moments with many of their favorite fairy tales. These individual scenes will be performed by Norwood students, and is written and directed by Dean Calusdian. Children are welcome to wear their costumes. Tickets are $5, and $4 for seniors and children ages under 5, and will be sold at the door. Call (781) 769-5021 if you have any questions.

2. The “Craft Affair at Norwood” will be held at the Coakley Middle School Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors and children under 12. More than 60 crafters from all over New England will attend. It is a non-profit event in support of The Post Prom Party and the betterment of Norwood High School activities. 3. St. Catherine of Siena School's Annual Electronic Recycle Day will be held on in the school parking lot on Railroad Ave. All items listed here can be recycled for $10 per item. TVs over 40 inches will be charged $20. No rear projection TVs will be accepted.

4. The Hidden Hotel, located at 95 Washington St. in Canton, will be open this weekend for haunted fun. The tale goes that the hotel was once the setting for society’s most glamorous social affairs and home to some the area's wealthiest residents. That all changed one stormy night when one of the hotel's guest was found murdered and his daughter vanished. Now the decrepit hotel stands in ruins, haunted by what happened that stormy night many years ago. Price of admission is $18 per person. A portion of The Hidden Hotel proceeds will benefit Cops For Kids With Cancer.

5. It doesn’t matter if you’re Lady Gaga or Lady Liberty for Halloween—if you have an awesome costume, showcase your creation in our Best Halloween Costume in America Contest.
