Friends Of Norwood Center Name New Downtown Director

The Downtown Manager's duties include creating special events and finding other opportunities to spread the word on business and community.

From FNC: The Friends of Norwood Center (FNC) – a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing downtown Norwood and drawing attention to its many attractions – has recently hired Kim Morin Weineck as Downtown Manager. “We’re delighted to have found someone with Kim’s outstanding experience and qualifications,” says FNC President John Hall. “And we’re confident her energy, enthusiasm, and creativity will be a huge help in achieving our goals.”

The Downtown Manager’s duties include creating special events and finding other opportunities to spread the word on business and community activities taking place in downtown Norwood. In addition, management of Norwood’s extremely successful June-to- October Farmers Market is also being consolidated under this position. Weineck has already begun assessing the opportunities offered by the Farmers Market and hopes to encourage more participation in it by downtown businesses. “I see a loyal audience that’s there every Tuesday – and is excited about shopping local and supporting local businesses,” she says. “They’re just the kind of people our downtown Norwood businesses want to attract!”

Weineck has also taken over administration of FNC’s website and thoroughly agrees with its proclamation that “Norwood Center is a great place to work, shop, dine, and have fun.” She encourages anyone interested in becoming a Friends of Norwood Center member to do so by visiting www.norwoodcenter.org. (Membership is free.) FNC can also be found on Facebook at facebook.com/norwoodcenter and on Twitter @norwoodcenter. For additional information, Weineck can be reached at norwoodcenter@gmail.com.
