Here Are The Businesses Norwood Residents Want
Norwood residents told Patch they want new restaurants and suggested a sub shop, an Italian eatery, and a vegan restaurant.
NORWOOD, MA — Being along Route 1 and a major highway like Interstate 95 has always made Norwood an attractive option for new businesses. Just last month, the Board of Selectmen approved the license for a Boston Tavern restaurant along Route 1. But what other types of businesses would Norwood residents like to see in town?
Patch asked the question, and residents flooded the Facebook comments to give their input. It's hard to list all of the businesses residents want to see come to town (there were about 50 comments with suggestions), but here are some of the most popular answers:

Many comments from residents suggested Norwood could use a few more restaurants. As for what type, the answers varied. Suggestions included sub shops, vegan/vegetarian eateries, Italian restaurants, ice cream shops, and places to get smoothies and acai bowls.
Grocery Stores

With Stop & Shop, Shaw's, Sabb's Market, and Apna Bazar, Norwood has more groceries stories than the average Massachusetts town. But that didn't stop residents from wanting some more variety. The most popular suggestion was to bring a Trader Joe's to town, but Market Basket was mentioned as well.
Bookstores
Residents didn't specify the type of bookstore they want, but there's options from a larger store like Barnes and Noble, to smaller used book stores. Used book stores are popular in urban communities like Boston and Cambidge, but there's no reason this couldn't be a good idea in a suburb like Norwood. A used book store would give residents a place to get books cheap and trade in the ones they don't want anymore. One resident suggested a store that sells scrapbook supplies as well.
