For the weekend of September 21–24, the public is invited to participate in a "Wings of Freedom Tour" that will showcase vintage aircraft honoring our World War II veterans.

On display at Norwood Memorial Airport will be a B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and P-51 Mustang. These "living history" aircraft are owned and operated by the Collings Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Stow, Mass.

General admission will be through security gate 1, adjacent to the municipal lot, on the dates and times posted below. A walk-through tour of the World War II aircraft will cost $12 for adults, $6 for children 12 years old and younger. In addition, this year’s static display of aircraft will include some contemporary aircraft now based at the Norwood Airport. There will be no added charge to walk around the modern aircraft.

The Collings Foundation aircraft are expected to arrive at about 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. Gate 1 will then open to the public on the following schedule:
