Former Norwood Football Standout Gets Tryout With Seahawks
Jason Matovu has been invited to the team's rookie minicamp.
Despite going unpicked in last week's NFL Draft, Norwood High School graduate Jason Matovu could still end up on a pro team.
The defensive back and University of Maine product has been invited to the Seattle Seahawks' rookie mini camp, the school's football team confirmed.
In his three seasons in Maine, Matovu tallied 134 tackles. At Norwood, he rushed for 800 yards and 12 touchdowns during his senior campaign in 2012. He was named the Norwood High School Male Athlete of the Year and in indoor track, he was the 2013 Bay State Conference MVP.
