Norwood PD Drive New Hybrid SUVs
The hybrid cars are a fuel-efficient addition to the department's fleet.
NORWOOD, MA — The Norwood Police Department added some fuel-efficient SUV's to its fleet of vehicles. New Hybrid Ford SUVs are not only environmentally friendly but cost effective for the department.
The department received the three new SUVs last week. Chief of Police William Brooks explained to Norwood Community Media, the department orders the cars from Colonial Motor Group, a dealership on the South Shore. The department put the order in for the cars a few months ago, Brooks said.
The department fits the cars with the department markings as well as the prisoner compartment in the back and laptop consoles up front.
