Norwood Police To Conduct Compliance Checks

Police will ensure business have proper alcohol licenses and are following protocol for serving.

NORWOOD, MA — Norwood police announced they will be conducting compliance checks for the year. They did not specify when the checks will begin but warned businesses serving alcohol they could arrive at any time.

The purpose of these compliance checks is to ensure that liquor license holders within the Town of Norwood are complying with the regulations put forth by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABCC) and the Town of Norwood when it comes to underage drinking.

As part of these compliance checks, the Norwood Police may have underage operatives without any valid identification attempt to purchase alcohol. On the other hand, underage operatives may present a valid Driver's License which reflects that the operative is under 21 years of age, to be sure that liquor license holders are actually checking the license and understand what they are looking for.
