Norwood Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind residents of the prohibition regarding the obstructing of sidewalks.
The Town of Norwood’s Traffic Rules and Regulations prohibits obstructing a sidewalk. We interpret obstructing to mean impassable for pedestrians, pedestrian with a baby carriage, young child on a bicycle, etc.
When someone has to walk off the sidewalk and into the roadway this becomes a safety concern. Officers have been instructed to issue parking tickets where this violation occurs.
