Norwood Theatre Gearing Up for Second Season

The Norwood Theatre has announced their second season, and this time around looks to be just as exciting.

The self-styled Godfather of Boston comedy Don Gavin is coming in October. Gavin has been in many movies, including Shallow Hal, Two if By Sea and Fever Pitch. He also joined in the Roast of Denis Leary, who he has performed alongside many times with Boston comedians like Steve Sweeny and Lenny Clarke from Rescue Me. Gavin has performed in over 100 countries and has worked with the USO in the past.

The Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra is returning on September 14 at 8 p.m. They will be performing renditions of songs by The Who, David Bowie, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Queen, just to name a few.

On September 28 The doo wop band the Corvettes will be performing.  The Corvettes tour  with many legendary Doo Wop groups including The Drifters, The Tokens, Danny & The Juniors, The Platters, The Marvelettes, The Shangri Las, The Shirelles, The Belmonts, Gary U.S. Bonds, The DelVikings and The Teenagers to name a few.

In the Broadway Boys on Oct. 19, the Norwood Theatre will see talent direct from the New York Scene. Performers in the show have played in Broadway plays such as Mamma Mia, the Book of Mormon, Hair, Wicked, Jersey Boys and many others..

There will also be a Vincent Price film festival on Nov. 1 a British Invasion Tribute on Nov. 2, a performance of Sister Robert Anne’s Cabaret Class on Nov. 9, a performance of Boston’s own Draw the line on Nov. 16 and a finale of the Holiday Variety Show on Dec. 14, this season is packed for events this fall.
