Revere Man Dies In Norwood Crash Following Short Police Chase

A 22-year-old Revere man died following a high-speed crash in Norwood, early Saturday, state police said.

NORWOOD, MA — A Revere man died in a high-speed crash following a brief early morning police chase in Norwood, state police said Saturday.

A state trooper attempted to stop a vehicle speeding on Interstate 95 northbound in Sharon, around 2:30 a.m., police said. The vehicle did not stop and the trooper gave chase, with authorization from Troop H Headquarters.

Moments later, the vehicle crashed near Exit 11 in Norwood, still going very fast.

Two people, both young men from Revere, were in the car.

One occupant, a 22-year-old man from Revere, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and pronounced dead. Police believe he was the driver.

The other man, 20, was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The crash investigation is ongoing and no other information was released.
