UPDATED: Roof Collapses at Industrial Building in Norwood

A center portion of the roof of an industrial building at 1400 Boston-Providence Highway collapsed Monday according to police scanner reports.

Initial reports indicated that firefighters were inside the building when it collapsed. As of about 1:45 p.m. Monday all were out of the building and accounted for.

Norwood Police were requested to help with evacuation of the building and as of about 1:30 p.m. utility companies were reported en route for a gas leak inside the collapse.

The building is a two story industrial structure at Boston-Providence Highway near Sumner St.
