Three From Norwood Earn Globe All-Scholastic Honors

Amanda Olbrys, Jake Fleming, and Annie Irwin were all honored with the award.

NORWOOD, MA — Two Norwood High School students and a Norwood resident who attends a private school recently received one of the top honors for area high school students.

Softball star Amanda Olbrys, volleyball player Jake Fleming, and girls lacrosse player Annie Irwin of Montrose were named to the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team. Below is a little about how they earned the honor:

Norwood High School Students

Softball

  • Amanda Olbrys, junior - Batted .580 and posted a pitching record of 13-7 with 106 strikeouts.

Volleyball

  • Jake Fleming, senior - Racked up 623 kills, 180 digs, and 250 service points this season. He will play for Erskine in South Carolina next season.

Private School Students

Girls' Lacrosse

  • Annie Irwin, junior at the Montrose School - Scored 47 goals and picked up 17 assists. Earned Independent Conference co-MVP honors.
