Used Car Superstore to Build Location in Norwood

CarMax will join the dealerships occupying Norwood's "Automile."

Used car superstore CarMax will be building a new location in Norwood, according to the Boston Herald.

The demolition has already begun at the site, the Herald report states, which is 135,000 square feet previously belonging to Home Quarters Warehouse.

A CarMax spokesperson told the Herald it could take between two and three years and is expected to create between 100 and 125 jobs when opened.

In December of last year CarMax opened its first Massachusetts dealership in North Attleboro, and began discussing a Norwood location on the "Automile."

The business has been before the Norwood Board of Selectmen several times for the proper licenses involved in building on the 10 acres of space that will include a service center, showroom and lot space for 400 cars.
