What's Next For Norwood's Bid To Join The Tri-Valley League?

The school committee recently voted 3-2 to allow the school to apply for Tri-Valley League membership.

NORWOOD, MA — With the blessing of the majority of the school committee, Norwood High School can now approach the Tri-Valley League about the possibility of switching leagues.

So where does Norwood go from here?

Norwood High athletic director Jon Longley told the Norwood Bulletin that they will meet with the TVL athletic directors in September for a meeting a presentation, followed by a vote at a later date.

If they are welcomed into the league, Norwood could start TVL play in time for the 2018-19 season.

If approved, Norwood would be the league's 12th school.

In past meetings, Longley has said that Norwood is simply outmatched as the smallest school in the Bay State Conference and can’t compete against schools like Needham, Newton North, and Wellesley.
