87-Year-Old Man Struck on Crosswalk Outside Saint Adelaide Parish
The victim was transported to Mass. General Hospital where he was recovering from his injuries Sunday evening.

An 87-year-old man was transported to Mass. General Hospital after he was struck while in the crosswalk in front of Saint Adelaide Parish Sunday afternoon.Â
According to Peabody Police Lt. William Cook, the incident happened at about 1 p.m. on Lowell Street. Westbound traffic was temporarily detoured through the church parking lot until police cleared from the scene.
The victim was reportedly crossing the street, coming from the church side, when he was struck by a Buick LeSabre.

Reports say the pedestrian went into traumatic arrest at the scene and police confirmed he was the only person transported to the hospital.
CBS Boston reported later in the afternoon that the man was recovering at the hospital.

The driver did stop after the accident and speak with police. A Mass. State Police Reconstruction team also responded to the scene to investigate the accident.
