Big Month Of Pride Events Planned For Peabody In June
The Black Box Theater and Granite Coast Brewing will host events to support Pride Month before a City Hall flag-raising ceremony on June 26.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody will host three events this month to celebrate and support LGBTQ Pride Month in the city.
The events are a collaboration between community organizations, local artists and city small businesses.
Maxine Harrison and Miss Michael will host Drag Queen Binge at Peabody's Black Box Theater on June 11. The event will benefit the North Shore Alliance for GLBTQ Youth. The program will include a walk-up bar and Bingo from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets can be bought here.

"We are thrilled to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month in downtown Peabody," said Tony Leone, NAGLY's director of community services and engagement. "In 2019, we partnered with Peabody Main Streets and other local organizations to host the city's first-ever Pride Celebration at Olio's Event Space and it's wonderful that this has now become a Peabody community tradition."
Attendees are encouraged to use the occasion to support downtown businesses as they recover from the coronavirus health crisis.

"Our local businesses have been through a lot over the past year and these types of events are key to reinvigorating our downtown area as we all work to recover from the pandemic," said Lisa Geczi, events manager for Peabody's Black Box Theater, Wiggin Auditorium, and Peabody Main Streets.
Granite Coast Brewery will host a Pride Night on June 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. Customers are encouraged to wear Pride colors, bring their own games, and NAGLY will be there selling Pride merchandise and providing LGBTQ information.
"Granite Coast is happy to host this year's Pride Night in Peabody,” said Amy Luckiewicz, Granite Coast Brewing Company's marketing manager and events coordinator. "We'll have a variety of beers on tap and food available for purchase from Dotty & Rays.
"After more than a year of social distancing and isolation, Pride Night will be a great chance for people to reconnect with old friends and make new ones."
Granite Coast will raffle off filled growlers and a pint glass to benefit NAGLY.
The city will also hold an official municipal ceremony raising the Pride flag in front of City Hall. The public is invited to the 10 a.m. event.
