Boston North Cancer Association 2020 Scholarship Recipients

Boston North Cancer Association (BNCA) recently hosted its first ever 2020 Virtual Hope Begins Here Awards Presentation recognizing six exceptional students from north of Boston communities. More than $20,000 in scholarships were presented to five high-achieving high school seniors heading off to college and an outstanding medical school student---whose lives were impacted by cancer and deserving of this special recognition.

The following are the 2020 scholarship recipients and where they are headed this Fall:

The $7,500 F. John Bargoot, MD Memorial Scholarship to Felipe Souza Camelo of Peabody, Weill Cornell Medical College, at Cornell University

The $3,500 Mary Barbuzzi Breast Cancer Memorial Scholarship to Mia Ziomek of Amesbury, Suffolk University

The $3,500 Hope Begins Here Scholarship to Martin ‘Marty’ Roach of Danvers, Bentley University

The $3,500 Hope Begins Here Scholarship to Kristen Santillan of Lynn, Emmanuel College

The $1,500 Rising Star Honorary Scholarship to Sarah Hurley of Beverly, UMASS Lowell

The $1,000 Lightshed Photography Honorary Scholarship to Jack Gilmore of Topsfield, UCONN
