Shoplifting, Thefts and Bite From Stray Dog
The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it doesn't indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from May 28-29.
Tuesday, May 28
- 3:45 p.m. Sears reported more than $100 of merchandise was stolen. Joseph Thomas, 25, of 77 Sohia Road, Apt. 4, Beverly, was arrested. Thomas was charged with shoplifting by concealing.Â
- 4:17 p.m. a caller reported that her daughter was attempting to pick up a stray dog on Essex Center Drive and and the animal bit her. The Animal Control Officer brought in the stray.Â
- 5:08 p.m. vandalism was reported on Washington Street. A caller said a side window in an apartment building was broken by a brick.Â
- 5:25 p.m. shoplifting was reported on Andover Street. The individual was charged with shoplifting by concealing and receiving stolen property over $250.Â
- 6:09 p.m. a caller reported a fight in progress on Washington Street. The caller reported a middle school age youth being beat up by a couple of other youths the same age.Â
- 9:35 p.m. the YMCA on Lynnfield Street reported that someone picked a lock stole an iPhone and $140 cash from a locker room.Â
Wednesday, May 29
- 6:46 p.m. graffiti was reported on Spring Pond Road.Â
- 11:11 a.m. a hit and run motor vehicle accident was reported at the Seven Eleven on Lowell Street.Â
