Child Left in Car with Windows Up on Andover Street

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from June 24-25.Â
Monday, June 24
- 4:04 p.m. a stolen car was reported at Allstar Enterprises on Upton Street. A caller reported that a customer's vehicle was stolen from the lot.Â
- 4:31 p.m. a caller reported that his neighbor was pushing debris close to the caller's Russell Street house and burning it. The Fire Department responded and found him to only be burning brush.Â
- Â 7:26 p.m. a caller reported vandalism to his motor vehicle on Catherine Drive. The caller's rear drivers side tire was slashed overnight. The caller had no suspects.Â
- 7:58 p.m. a caller reported a large tree down on Jackson Avenue. The tree fell on a poolhouse along with wires.Â
- 10:08 p.m. a car fire was reported on Lowell Street. There was an electrical problem with the motor vehicle and the resident will contact AAA and have the vehicle towed.Â
Tuesday, June 25
- 1:46 a.m. police arrested Paul Gilmartin, 42, of 11 Prides Park, Hamilton, on Lowell Street. Gilmartin was driving on Lowell Street when he was pulled over for speeding. He was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and speeding.Â
- 2:34 a.m. a caller reported a past breaking and entering at Don's Power Equipment on Newbury Street. An officer reports that video surveillance shows three males that were dropped off by a red pick-up truck at the property. The three men then cut the fence in the back of the property and broke into a rental storage unit. Two of the three males were believed to be connected with a past breaking and entering.Â
- 9:19 a.m. a caller reported a male party outside of the CVS on Main Street, waving a badge at oncoming traffic. The male was bald and wearing all black.Â
- 10:27 a.m. a one-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Main Street. The vehicle, however, fled the scene. An officer spoke with the driver over the phone and informed him that he is being summonsed to court on criminal charges of leaving the scene of property damage.Â
- 12:07 p.m. a caller reported a child in a vehicle on Andover Street with the windows up. An officer located the vehicle was able to get the child out of the car. The report did not indicate how long the child was in the vehicle. The officer will be filing a 51A against the guardian of the child, which reports neglect of a child, causing suffering or harm in any way.Â
