Deal To Relocate Brodie's Pub In Peabody Falls Through

Mayor Ted Bettencourt said it will help the pub find a new location as the city eyes its current location for a park.

PEABODY, MA -- The Salem News is reporting that neither the owner of Brodie's Pub or the developer of 1 Main Street will comment on why the pub will no longer be a part of the mixed-used renovation of the building. The scuttled deal means that Brodie's Pub is now looking for a new location, as its current lease at 10 Lowell Street expires in November. The city of Peabody has announced plans to raze that building to make way for a park.

Mayor Ted Bettencourt told the newspaper that the city is unlikely to begin demolition of the building until the spring of 2019, giving the city time to help Brodie's find a new location. The NexMex Thing, which also occupies 10 lowell Street, is already planning to move to another Main Street location.
