Fenwick Volleyball Claims D2 North Crown Over Rival Melrose

The two teams have clashed several times before in the playoffs, but this time, Bishop Fenwick swept Melrose High for the Division 2 North title and a shot at the state championship. Melrose has won the state title once and the sectional title four times in the past four years.

The Crusaders played the Red Raiders on Saturday in Lawrence, however, to a 3-0 shutout. Fenwick now plays Division 2 South champion Notre Dame Academy of Hingham this week.

That semi-final round of the state championship series is scheduled for Nov. 13 (7 p.m.) at Tewksbury High School.
