What: Fireworks
Where: Boston Common
When: July 4, 10:30 p.m.

All eyes will be on Boston for the return of fireworks there as most communities have canceled their displays, mostly due to a lack of planning time and an unwillingness to host so many people right now.

The fireworks are at Boston Common, not the Esplanade, and will follow the Boston Pops' 8 p.m. performance in Tanglewood, a music venue in Western Massachusetts.

Most North Shore communities determined earlier this spring to postpone this year's fireworks because of uncertainty at the time regarding coronavirus-related capacity limits.

In Peabody, each ward has scheduled its own events over the course of the weekend with most having a parade, food and fun family events Sunday morning, while Ward 4 was to host a magician and movie night on Friday. Because of Friday's rain that event was postponed to a date still to be determined.

The nearest fireworks will be Monday night at 9:30 over Gloucester harbor.
