First Day on the Job for Interim Peabody Police Chief

Retired Salem Police Chief Bob St. Pierre reports for duty Nov. 18 as the interim chief in Peabody.

Bob St. Pierre is on the job in Peabody, starting Monday.

The retired Salem police chief will serve in an interim role in Peabody until a permanent hire is eventually made to replace longtime Peabody Chief Robert Champagne.

Mayor Ted Bettencourt plans to use an assessment center process to fill the job, and can now attract candidates outside of Civil Service guidelines.
