Former Councilor Bob Driscoll Passes Away at Age of 69
The longtime Ward 4 councilor was also the coach of the Masconomet Regional High School boys' hockey team from 1972-2004.

Peabody, MA - Former City Councilor and longtime Masconomet Regional High School hockey coach Bob Driscoll died over the weekend at the age of 69.
Driscoll was the Ward 4 councilor for 28 years before stepping down last year. He coached the Masconoment High hockey team for even longer, for 33 years from 1972 to 2004.
"The City of Peabody has lost a true public servant and a true gentleman with the passing of Bob Driscoll," Mayor Ted Bettencourt said in a statement on Monday. "I am privileged to have known Bob as a friend, colleague and mentor during the years we served together on the City Council. As a Councilor, Bob was a tremendous advocate not only for his Ward 4 constituents but for residents throughout his beloved hometown of Peabody. On behalf of a grateful City, I offer my deepest sympathies to Bob’s wife Sally and to all of their children and grandchildren."
