According to weather spotters, total snowfall accumulation from the first storm of the winter was 8 inches.

Spotters say Danvers saw 7.5 inches, while Topsfield got 9 inches plus an inch of sleet. Last report from Lynn at 3:47 a.m. on Sunday was 5.5 inches while a Beverly spotter reported 5.4 inches at 7:15 a.m.

If you're out shoveling today, be mindful the temperature did drop sharply this morning, well below freezing.

The temperature is expected to rise again to about 35 degrees before dipping to a chilly 16 degrees tonight.
