PEABODY, MA — There were scanner reports of multiple injuries following a multi-vehicle car crash on Route 128 in Peabody Thursday afternoon.

The crash was reported a little before 3 p.m. near exit 26 on the northbound side of the highway. Traffic is backed up in both directions approaching the Lowell Street exit.
