New Downtown Park to Be Dedicated Tomorrow

City officials will gather for the ribbon-cutting of the East End Veterans Memorial Park on Walnut Street.

Peabody mayor Ted Bettencourt will be officiating the ribbon-cutting at the new downtown park Friday, according to an article in the Salem News.

The 1.3-acre park comprises a walking loop and a stage for summer performances. While the park doesn't have a playground officials say there are large boulders for kids to play on.

“We could even have concerts,” said Director of Community Development Karen Sawyer. “And picnics on the grass.”
