Obituary: Alice M. "Babci" (Szufnarowski) Daley, Enjoyed Spending Time With Her Family

Alice Daley was the wife of the late Peabody firefighter James T. Daley.

Alice M. “Babci” (Szufnarowski) Daley, 87, of Salem Mass., and formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday at the Beverly Hospital with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Peabody firefighter James T. Daley.

She was born in Salem, Mass., on May 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Burak) Szufnarowski and was raised and educated there before moving to Peabody where she resided for many years before moving back to Salem 10 years ago.

Alice had been a hairdresser and later was employed at the Hotwatt Company in Danvers for 25 years prior to her retirement.

She enjoyed going up to Newfound Lake, shopping, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Thomas Tremblay of Peabody, her cherished grandchildren, Molly Tremblay and her fiancé Andrew Brisson and Michael Tremblay, a great granddaughter, Mia Tremblay all of Peabody. She was the sister of the late Josephine Somers.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will be held there on Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to charity of your choice.
