Obituary: Natalie (Arena) Gioioso, 68, of Peabody

Gioioso worked in the bakery of Shaw's Supermarket in Revere for 15 years.

Natalie (Arena) Gioioso, 68, of Peabody, died Sunday morning with her family by her side at her home following a long battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of Joseph Gioioso with whom she shared over 49 years of marriage.

Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Flora (Proto) Arena. She was raised and educated in East Boston and Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School, class of 1965. She later lived in Revere and has spent the last 14 years living in Peabody.

Natalie was employed for over 15 years in the bakery at Shaw’s Supermarket in Revere until she retired in 2002. She attended Bible Prayer Group at both St. Adelaide’s Church and Our Lady of Assumption Church in Lynnfield.

Besides her loving husband she is survived by her two daughters Gina and her husband John Ellard, Jr of Rockland, and Lisa and her husband Shawn Fennelly of Peabody, her siblings, Jacqueline Luti of Revere, Theresa and her husband Paul DeLeo of East Boston, Florine and her husband Willard Turner of Worcester, Francine Conley of Somerville and Frank Arena of St. Paul, MN, and is also survived by four grandchildren, Natalie and John Ellard III, Bianca Pepe, and Karissa Fennelly, and by many nieces and nephews.
