Peabody and Fenwick Volleyball Top Ranked; Crusaders Football on to Semis
Here's the latest on playoff action this fall in Peabody.

It's now down to the Tanners' volleyball team and the ladies' varsity squad hasn't even played its first tournament game yet.
Peabody volleyball hosts Methuen Monday night (7 p.m.) in a quarterfinal game for Division 1 North. Peabody, seeded No. 1, won a bye in the first round.
Both the Peabody boys' and girls' soccer teams were eliminated from the playoffs this past weekend while both football and field hockey didn't qualify for the tournament this year.
Girls' soccer knocked off Westford, 1-0, Friday at home, but was then eliminated in a 1-0 quarterfinal contest to Masconomet on Sunday. The boys hosted Malden Sunday afternoon in a first round game, but were defeated 1-0.
Across town at Bishop Fenwick, however, the Crusaders are still in the thick of the tournament.
Fenwick football, which captured the league title this year and automatically qualified for the playoffs in the No. 1 seed for Division 5 North, defeated St. Mary's of Lynn in a playoff re-match on Friday, 32-12. Fenwick hosts Austin Prep Friday (7 p.m.) in a semi-final contest.
The Crusaders girls' volleyball team is also highly ranked (No. 1 in Division 2 North) and bested Dracut, 3-0, in a first round game on Sunday. Fenwick hosts Weston Tuesday (7 p.m.).
The Crusaders boys' soccer will be at Manning Field in Lynn Monday (4 p.m.) to play St. Mary's in a quarterfinal contest in Division 4 North. Fenwick defeated Boston International, 1-0, in the first round.
The girls' squad is also in the quarterfinals for Division 3 North. The Crusaders play at Lynnfield Monday (2 p.m.) after having defeated North Reading, 2-0, in the first round.
The Fenwick field hockey club lost to Weston, 4-0, in the first round of Division 2 North play last week.
