Peabody Concert & Fireworks Spectacular Returns This Year

After last year's fireworks show to celebrate Peabody's 100th birthday, the event is back by popular demand.

PEABODY, MA – Last year, Tanner City put on a fireworks show complete with a big band performance to celebrate the city's 100th birthday. The mayor's office got so much positive feedback after the show, they decided to bring it back for a repeat performance.

The annual concert and Fireworks Spectacular will be on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m., at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. The legendary Hillyer Festival Orchestra will perform music from Broadway, film, and big band classics. Hillyer Festival Orchestra was started in 1998, and is widely acclaimed in the Greater Boston area.

"Following the success of last year’s Centennial Fireworks Show my office received many requests from residents for an encore," said Mayor Ted Bettencourt in a press release. "So once again this summer we look forward to patriotic-themed music by one of the region's foremost pops ensembles followed by a breathtaking fireworks display that will light up the sky over the football field."
