Peabody Fire Crews Save Ducklings From Hot Storm Drain
Crews made the rescue toward the end of a long and hot shift on Monday as "Momma Duck" patiently watched nearby.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody fire crews were the latest to make way for some stranded ducklings Monday afternoon.
After a busy week battling a three-alarm blaze on Warren Street last week, and one hot Monday with 29 calls and 11 inspections, members of Local 925 finished the day with a special save as crews secured five baby ducks from a storm drain while "Momma Duck" patiently waited.
Firefighters Devon Wolf, John Soares and Gregory Jordan led the way on the rescue.
