Peabody Integrated Preschool Program Accepting Applications​
A pair of virtual meet-and-greets for the John E. McCarthy Elementary School program will be held Tuesday.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody Public Schools is holding virtual meet-and-greets with parents and guardians interested in enrolling children in the McCarthy integrated preschool program for the 2021-2022 school year.
Applications for the McCarthy Elementary School program will be accepted through March 26. If the school receives more applications than open spots a public lottery will be held.
The meetings will be Tuesday from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and 6 to 6:30 p.m. via Google Meet here. Those interested can watch an open house here.

There is also a Title I preschool program at the Welch Elementary School and the Passos preschool program is held at South and West Elementary Schools.
Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 15 students with a morning and afternoon session. The focus is on developing social skills and emotional skills.

Students also learn pre-academic skills, pronunciation and identification skills in letters, numbers, colors and shapes.
There are also arts and motor skill-learning programs.
Students must turn 3 years old before Aug. 31, 2021, in order to be accepted into the program, and any student who turns 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021, will be directed to enroll in kindergarten.
