Peabody Man Wins First $1M Prize In New Lottery Game
A Peabody resident won the first $1 million prize in the new state lottery Extra Plays instant ticket game.

PEABODY, MA – Josif Bigiku of Peabody is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new "Extra Plays" $5 instant ticket game, the Lottery’s first instant ticket to feature extra chances to win on the back of the ticket, which is where Bigiku uncovered a winning symbol and the amount of his prize.
Bigiku chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (fewer tax withholdings). He plans on using his winnings to pay off his oldest daughter's student loans and pay for his youngest daughter to attend college. He also plans on making some charitable donations.
His winning ticket was purchased at a Cambridge Sunoco. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
