It's never too early to start thinking about New Year's Eve! Here's your guide to parties and other events happening in and near Peabody.
PEABODY, MA – Love it or hate it, New Year’s Eve is happening again this year. Whether you plan to ring in 2018 at your favorite restaurant, a buzzing party with your friends, or all cozied up in front of the TV, we’ve got you covered.
So pop the bubbly, come up with some resolutions you can actually stick to and get ready to celebrate the New Year. Check out town-by-town listings below of New Year’s celebrations and events for 2017 in and near Peabody if you’re one to want to go out, plus a look at what television programming may make you want to stay in.

Peter Wolf's New Year's Eve Party At The Cabot
Party like it's 1979! Local rock icon and former J. Geils Band member Peter Wolf rings in the New Year with a show starting at 9 pm. Tickets ranges from $42.50 to $78.50. The show is part of the tour supporting his most recent release, "A Cure For Loneliness," but you can bet he'll play some of the old standards that made him a fixture in the Boston music scene.
New Year's Even Block Party at Marketplace in Lynnfield
MarketStreet Lynnfield celebrates New Year’s Eve with its third annual Family Block Party, a festive bash for the whole family, taking place in Market Square (located next to Starbucks and Panera Bread) from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. MarketStreet Lynnfield’s resident DJ will ring in the New Year with beats while guests can enjoy street performers and discounted skating at The MarketStreet Rink. Giving the entire family the opportunity to watch “the ball drop,” MarketStreet Lynnfield, in partnership Brookwood School, will drop 1,000 colorful beach balls at 7:00PM in Market Square. New Year's Eve With Fast Times At Stonewood Tavern in Peabody
Tickets are $25 and include passed hors d'oeurves and a champagne toast. Doors open at 7:00 pm and the band goes on at 9:00 pm. For more information, see the event listing.
New Years Eve Salem - Launch - Light it Up
Salem actually has two New year's Eve celebrations in a single night: the free, family-friendly countdown from 4-6 pm at the Old Town Hall and the late night ticketed event when Old Town Hall is transformed into a dance hall from 9 pm - 1 am. Both events are sponsored by the City of Salem, Salem Main Streets and Creative Salem. For more information, see the event Website.
Notch Brewing Late Night 5k, 283 Derby Street, 10:00 PM
What better way to end 2017 than with a nice easy run with friends? We’ll meet at the Tap Room just before 10pm and run the usual 5k route. Then it’s fresh ale and lager until 2018! This run is intended to be very casual so that it doesn’t interfere with plans for the Frosty Four mile race the next day. Squeeze in another 3.1 miles before you close the books on 2017!
New Year’s Eve: Cocktails Around the World! at Deacon Giles Distillery (75 Canal Street)
Join Deacon Giles on New Year’s Eve for ‘Cocktails Around the World!’ Every hour, starting at 4pm, you’ll celebrate New Years with a different country and a cocktail designed just for it! They’ll also live stream the celebration in each country, as their ball drops, on the big screen! Here’s the catch, the cocktail will only be available for the hour following it’s country’s celebration… Then it’s on to the next!. 21+

New Year's Eve at the Castle in Beverly
$15 tickets include unlimited gaming at the board game cafe, raffle entry, champagne toast at midnight plus show off your skills during their Connect Four tournament. Where to catch it: CNN
Why you should watch: For the first time ever, Anderson Cooper will host CNN’s annual New Year’s Eve Live special with none other than “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen. As these two are best friends in real life, you can expect tons witty banter and hilarious moments from the pair. The Bravo mogul will replace Cooper’s former co-host Kathy Griffin, whom CNN fired after her controversial Donald Trump photoshoot.
"Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin' Eve 2018"Hosted by Ryan Seacrest
Where to catch it: ABC
Why you should watch: Remember last year’s infamous Mariah Carey mic incident? Yes, it happened on Seacrest’s watch. So if that’s any indication, this could be a good one to tune-in to. And even if there aren’t any crazy celebrity snafus, you can count on crazy views of Time Square packed with people, as well as awesome musical performances.
