Peabody Plans Ward 4th Of July Celebration Events
Fourth of July parades, field days and food will take place across the city Sunday with Ward 4 holding a movie night Friday at Emerson Park.
PEABODY, MA — While some of the North Shore's bigger fireworks celebrations remain on hold this Fourth of July because of uncertainty surrounding coronavirus-related capacity restrictions this spring, Peabody is moving forward with its annual ward-specific events this holiday weekend.
Ward 1 will hold its events at Raddin Park with a Patriotic Parade starting at the corner of Blair Terrace and Lynnfield Street at 9:45. Peabody police will lead the parade of decorated bikes, scooters, carriages and more.
From 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. there will be a ward party with running, basketball and hula hoop contests, including prizes, as well as a DJ, demonstrations, food and drinks.

Similar neighborhood parties will take place throughout the rest of the city with Ward 2 holding its event at the Welch School with all children receiving a free Independence Day fun bag and entrance into a raffle for a free bicycle.
Ward 3's event will include a Horribles Parade and a family-style party at Connolly Park.

Ward 4 will have a movie night at Emerson Park on Friday night with a magician at 7 and the movie screening set to start at 8:15.
Ward 5's event will be at Cy Tenney Park with a parade followed by a DJ, ice cream and the honoring of veterans. Lunch from Santarpio's Pizza will be served at about 11 a.m.
Ward 6's event will be at Symphony Park with a parade followed by a dance party, field games and hot dogs, burgers, potato chips and drinks served for lunch.
