Peabody Police Seek Public Comment In State Accreditation Process

The department is looking to be re-accredited for another three-year period.

PEABODY, MA — The Peabody Police Department is providing an opportunity for public comment as it seeks a renewal of its state accreditation.

Peabody police were first accredited in 2003 and has been re-accredited every three years. Peabody is one of 93 departments to achieve the distinction from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Program.

The accreditation process assists police departments in strengthening accountability, limiting liability and improving their relationship with their community through implementing proven law enforcement practices.

As part of the process, anyone wishing to submit a public comment is asked to do so through Commission Executive Director Donna Mooers at donna@masspolice.net or 978-834-5170.
