Peabody Route 128 Lane Closures Start Sunday Night

The temporary lane closures are because of repaving and construction between Exits 38 and 40 in Peabody (old exits 25 to 28).

PEABODY, MA — There will be temporary lane closures on Route 128 in both directions in Peabody starting Sunday night because of repaving and construction work.

The state Department of Transportation said work will take place between Exits 38 and 40 (the old exits 25 through 28) Sunday through Thursday during overnight hours. Work will be done from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday with some Friday nights added, as needed.

Work will necessitate some temporary lane closures for milling and paving, drainage structure improvements, guardrail improvements, median barrier installation and pavement markings. At least one lane will remain open at all times during work.
