Peabody Sisters Celebrate After Emotional Super Bowl Night

Regardless of whether the Peabody sisters' superstitions were the winning ingredient, they have plenty to celebrate today.

PEABODY, MA – Jackie Amadeo didn't go to bed until 3 a.m. on Monday. She and her sister, Corinne Kruger, had to hear what every TV station was saying about the Patriots after their historic Super Bowl win.

Amadeo has been a Patriots fan since she and her brother had season tickets in the 70s or 80s. When Tom Brady was drafted in 2000, they were hooked.

The sisters decorated the outside of their Brooksby Village home with Patriots memorabilia leading up to the Super Bowl. During the game, Amadeo said she realized she left their Brady doll and pez outside. At halftime, they brought them back in.

"It’s just so odd that they did so much better in the second half," said Amadeo on Monday. She joked that she doesn't necessarily think that bringing the items inside led to the historic comeback, but that doesn't stop them from doing everything they can to help their team.

"We try to do the same thing every game that we’ve done," Amadeo said of her and Kruger. They sit in the same position every game, and put the TV volume on 12 when Brady's on.

"I knew they were going to do it," Amadeo said of the Patriots win. "Once they get in that mode, it’s like a shark that smelled blood."

The sisters opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate, and plan to watch the Patriots Parade on TV. For Amadeo, the game solidified what she already knew about Brady.

"We don’t even know all the things he was going through," she said of Brady. "It’s amazing how strong he is, mentally. He's like a superhero."
