Peabody Students Honored At Assumption, Emerson, URI, Vermont

These Peabody students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction.

PEABODY, MA — The University of Rhode Island said three Peabody students were named to the spring 2021 Dean's List.

Megan Ayles, Kelsey Irvine and Abby Ryder earned Dean's List.

To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Joshua Cerretani, of Peabody, has earned a place on the President's List for the spring 2021 semester. Students named to the President's List have demonstrated a series of commitments to their studies while at Dean College.

Mia Bettencourt and Victoria Fortado, of Peabody, were named to the spring 2021 Dean's List at Roger Williams University. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Rowan Emerson, of Peabody, MA, was named to the College of Charleston Spring 2021 President's List. Emerson is majoring in biology.

To qualify for President's List (Highly Distinguished), students must earn a GPA of 3.800 or higher and complete a minimum of 14 semester hours.

Springfield College has named Amanda Molle, from Peabody, to the Dean's list for academic excellence for the 2021 spring semester.

Molle has a primary major in sport management.

Peabody resident, Tatiana D. Rosario, has been named to Husson University's President's List for the Spring 2021 semester.

During the spring semester, Rosario was enrolled in Husson's Bachelor of Science in criminal justice/Bachelor of Science in psychology with a mental health rehabilitation technician/community (MHRT/C) Certification program.

Students who make the President's List must be enrolled as an undergraduate student, carry a full-time load of 12 credit hours, complete all attempted courses in the time allotted for the semester, and achieve a 3.80 to 4.0 semester grade-point average.

Ajhanel Rhoden, of Peabody, a graduate of Lynn Vocational-Technical Institute, graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science: psychology.

Lasell University students named to the Spring 2021 Dean's List were recognized for their academic performance last semester included Peabody students Shannon Grafton, Christopher Belliveau, Jacqueline Cordiero, Olivia Diogo, Niklas Gird, Brianna Ricker, Sofia Rodriguez, Valentina Ferrara, Sarah Lake, Nicola Manganiello, Meaghan Csongor and Madison Nerich.

Peabody resident Serena A. Laro was named to Husson University's Honors List for the spring 2021 semester.

During the spring semester, Laro was enrolled in Husson's Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science/Undergraduate Certificate in Data Analytics program.

Students who make the Honors List must be enrolled as an undergraduate student, carry a full-time load of 12 credit hours, complete all attempted courses in the time allotted for the semester, and achieve a 3.40 to 3.59 semester grade-point average.

Lauren Maloney, of Peabody, graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise and movement sciences during commencement ceremonies in May.

To be named to the dean's list at Vermont, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Peabody students who met that threshold were Gabrielle Hebert and Kevin Pham.

Businesss of Creative Enterprises major Ashely Blanco, of Peabody, recently won an award during this year's E3 Expo, an annual pitch competition event at Emerson College, celebrating creativity in business.

Students showcase their ventures and compete for monetary awards and donated services to help launch their business. Students who are involved in the E3 minor (Emerson Experience in Entrepreneurship) go through the paces of thinking up, developing, and marketing a business or nonprofit venture.

This year's cohort included students in nearly every major and produced ventures representing a wide range of industries, including music, fashion, real estate, PR, luxury services, and mental health.

Ashley Blanco's Anxiety Relief Kit (ARK), a customizable mental health box, took the $5,000 first prize at this year's E3 Pitch Competition.

Blanco is a member of the Emerson College Class of 2022.

Jacob Casallas, of Peabody, MA, was recently inducted into the Elmira College Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is threefold: to further the study of history by supporting historical research and publications, to recognize and nurture students who have excelled in the discipline of history, and to promote the exchange of ideas and research about the history between teachers and students.

Four Assumption University from Peabody were named to the University's Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

Those students were Courtney Ball, of the Class of 2022, Isabella Ricciardi, of Peabody, Sarah Enes, of the Class of 2023, and Claudio Rocha, of the Class of 2023.

"These students demonstrated incredible resiliency amid the challenges posed by COVID-19 during the previous academic year and remained committed to their programs of study," said Assumption University President Francesco C. Cesareo, Ph.D. "Assumption is proud of these students for excelling in the classroom as they immersed themselves in the University's liberal arts curriculum, steeped in the Catholic intellectual tradition, and their majors preparing them for meaningful lives and careers after graduation."

Curry College said Deanna DiNush, of Peabody, has been inducted into Pi Lambda Theta (PLT), one of the nation's most prestigious education honor societies.

Founded in 1910, Pi Lambda Theta has a mission to honor outstanding educators and inspire their leadership on critical education issues. The most selective society of its kind, PLT extends membership to students and professionals who satisfy academic eligibility requirements and have demonstrated characteristics of scholarship, leadership, and service.

In order to qualify for Pi Lambda Theta at Curry College, a student must be an Education major who has earned at least 60 credits with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Inducted students have exceeded the stringent criteria set by the honors society and demonstrate promise in the field of education.

Curry College also said Brittney DiNush, of Peabody, has been inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration.

In order to qualify for Sigma Beta Delta at Curry College, a student must be either a Business Management or Accounting major who has earned a minimum of 60 credits from Curry and ranks in the upper 20 percent of their class.

Kathryn DiGiulio, of Peabody, has been named to the Plymouth State University President's List for the spring 2021 semester.

To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the Spring 2021 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester.

DiGiulio is a Nursing major at Plymouth State.
